Harrison Paint Company owner, Chris Hamm, recently received NACE International Certified Coating Inspector – Level 3 Certification. He is the only one in the Northwest Louisiana industry region to hold this accreditation. After completing five years of coating inspection or coating related work and successful completion of all CIP Level 3 certification requirements, Chris is now recognized as an advanced inspector. This affords him the following qualifications: 1) Expert knowledge of corrosion, surface preparation, cleanliness, environmental conditions, test instruments, coating mixtures and safety 2) Ability to undertake unsupervised non-destructive and destructive inspections of liquid and non-liquid coatings applied to any substrate and 3) Demonstration of technical knowledge, problem solving ability regarding issues that may arise on site and capable of supervising basic (CIP Level 1) and intermediate (CIP Level 2) coating inspectors.
This certification is on the tails of the company’s recent expansion into Bossier City with a new location on Benton Road. This family-owned business has served the Shreveport-Bossier City area since 1950 from the main store on Fairfield Avenue, conveniently located close to I-20 and I-49. In response to retail market demand for less big chain and more local outlets supplying DIY materials and design consultation, the owners recently opened the new location at 5000 Benton Road #14. The new store will serve primarily the retail consumer, but also commercial contractors, designers and specifiers. The company is a complete paint, coatings, sundries, and EFIS supplier, and carries a complete service and product line of all the materials needed to the homeowner and professional.
This recent certification is as rewarding, if not more so, then the company’s expansion. It is self-gratifying to achieve a status of this level and be able to continue to offer the company an edge in the market.
